About Witch Tales & Magic
One summer midnight, when I was 13, the legendary witch, La Llorona (The Crier), woke me from my dreams. Her crying sounded like it came from beyond the grave, which indeed it did, since La Llorona has been dead for centuries. Even so, La Llorona is sometimes seen staggering near ditches, lakes and rivers, searching for her drowned children. That night, La Llorona walked along the ditch behind my house, tearing her hair out, her heart breaking for her children. The witch’s sadness chilled me to the bone and for two months, terrified me of being alone by myself, even during the day.
The tragedy and cries of La Llorona haunted me all these years, spellbinding me to delve, through research, into the little-known worlds of Southwestern Witchcraft, Hispanic Witchcraft, Native American Witchcraft, Russian Witchcraft, and Greek Witchcraft, with the intent of writing fiction – novels and stories about witches, their magic and covens.
The original witch stories in this witch blog are inspired by true events. The posting of each original work of flash witch fiction will be followed the next week with the “true witch story behind the witch tale.” Please note that my witch stories are listed in the middle panel under “Recent witch blog entries”. You can, also, click on “Witch Tales” under “Witch blog categories.
I have several series of witch novels planned. My first series is The Witch Narratives (click), consisting of seven-books about a dysfunctional family of witches and covens. I’m working hard at writing the second witch book, Birthright of the Black Rose (click), and trying to bewitch a publisher to publish the first book, Angel of the Black Rose (click). In the meantime, I’m building a fan base.
If my witches charm you, I would be enchanted to have you visit my witch blog often. Click on the link in the right panel, “Join My Witch Fan Web”, if I’ve enticed you into following my witch blog and being the first to know when Angel of the Black Rose (click) is available for sale at the book stores and on Amazon. You can then be painlessly updated about new postings of “True Witch Tales & Magic” and the progress of my spells on the murky publishing world. (Unenlightened publishers and literary agents all live on the dark side of the moon.)
Thanks so much. I’m beguiled by your interest.
